When Stephanie and I set out on our dream to start our business together, we quickly learned that we both had one important goal in mind. We both wanted to capture the lives of our clients while keeping the heart & emotion of their personal story in the forefront of every image. Over time, this has allowed for so many wonderful and unique relationships and connections to develop with our clients as our business has grown. Honestly, they are really more like friendships founded on trust, mutual creativity and a willingness to share our lives with one another. Personally, I’ve recently come to realize just how cool it is, that by simply checking in and reading the blog from time to time, many of you have come to know one another and share in each other’s life moments with out even having met! How amazing is that? I mention this because the sense of community that we have witnessed every time one of our clients/readers either checks in with us to ask about our friend Allison, and/or reference following her blog about her ongoing effort to process the loss of her husband this past year, it is so heart warming to encounter for us. Since so many have asked recently, and because I have Allison’s blessing… I’m proud to share this update with all of you!
On January 12th, 2018…. shortly after 7pm , following 7 minutes of pushing …. Allie delivered a beautiful 7lbs ,7oz perfect baby girl! Something tells me the number 7 will be very special to little Miss Vivianne Marie 😉! She is Allison and Dane’s (who passed a little over 7 months ago) 3rd child together and she is simply spectacular! Had I not already had the goosebumps watching my extremely strong friend deliver this new little life without an epidural while flanked by her parents and sister cheering her on via FaceTime, I would have certainly gotten the chills when the song Sweet Child of Mine started playing on Pandora just as baby Vivi entered the world! The entire event was an emotional testament to the human spirit and the strength of a woman, who frankly I’m in awe of, and her will to preserver and be strong no matter what!
When I think back on watching Allison’s mom Cynthia stand by her side throughout every contraction and every push…then later cutting the umbilical cord that attached her daughter and granddaughter together, I know that they are beautiful moments I will never forget. The mommy and child bond runs deep and I can tell you that Vivi was born surrounded by love, excitement and well wishes. I know Dane must have been smiling down with the same familiar look of pride that I had the chance to witness every time he held Ava and Oliver.
Photography had brought Allison into my world initially, but going through the beautiful highs and lows of real life together in these last few years …. well that has given me a friendship I deeply cherish. There would have been no other place I would have rather been than watching the latest Dickie baby being born!
If you would like to continue to follow Allison’s healing and keep up with her and her sweet children, follow this link to her blog!
Lindsey, thank you so much for playing such a large part in Allison’s journey. Thanks to your photography I get to be there with my family from my distance in New Jersey.
Your gift with a camera is amazing…
