Be warned because I’m all up in my feels on this beautiful Sunday afternoon guys🥰. Well beautiful if the weather man is wrong and it doesn’t end up raining. Anyways, I may have already said this to many of you over the years but it really bares repeating. I know I can speak for Stephanie as well when I say that it is absolutely the best feeling in the world and an honor to watch your families grow and change over the years. I get a little choked up thinking about it to be honest. Every time I get a text with a screen shot of your wall gallery projects or walk into your home for a session and see my images hanging on your walls, I can hardly explain the amount of gratitude I have that all of you have trusted in me to document your lives and tell your stories, so thank you for that!
My recent session with the Mayville family, who I’m featuring today, was another reminder of how lucky I am to get to do what I love while getting to know so many amazing people that I may not have gotten to meet otherwise. I’ve been photographing them every 4 months or so since their first little nugget was born. Most recently we got together for their second son’s one year old family session! What??? We picked downtown Ball Ground for a different feel this go around and it didn’t disappoint. I’m obsessed with all of the brick walls and searching out the little nooks and crannies that make for a fun variety of backdrops! I’m especially loving the giant freshly painted white warehouse doors.🥰
Our first fall mini session takes place at this location on October 3rd and we absolutely can not wait! If you haven’t signed up or decided on the location you like best and are still available next weekend, grab a spot! Downtown Ball Ground is not far from Milton, Alpharetta and Cumming!! It’s a beautiful drive and the town has such a cool old town feel to it. Each year we have gotten a lot of requests for sunflower pictures so we thought a day of summer minis would make up for the spring sessions that we had to cancel due to the current health environment. We are extremely excited to offer these fun mini sessions at Hunter’s Tree Farm in Milton, GA. Their fields offer several different varieties of gorgeous sunflowers and we can’t wait to take advantage of the old cars and trucks sprinkled about the property! The venue has made it possible to reserve times where only a handful of photographers and their clients can conduct photo shoots while still having ample space to maintain social distancing guidelines. When Ashley asked me if I could do a special session with her to honor her 30th birthday I couldn’t say yes, yes, yes fast enough! My own flirty 30 session is near and dear to my heart so I was ecstatic to be able to help celebrate her birthday with her.
When we began discussing this fun session it was right before Covid hit. After over 2 months of quarantining, social distancing and 2 kids relying on me for homeschooling it felt like her session was on my calendar for forever! But when school officially ended and our community started opening up it was go time baby!
We started tossing around location options but nothing was fitting, nothing was jumping out at us. I knew it needed to be the perfect place. Then Ashley suggested what ended up being one of the most memorable and unique venues. Wait for it… wait for it ….Oakland Cemetery! Yes, you read that right. We shot at a CEMETERY and it was beautiful! I had of course done a quick google search and I knew it was perfect after seeing the grounds and learning all about the different types of special events they host, their community involvement as well as the cemetery’s history which makes this place a very special landmark. You guys…if you are local to Atlanta you have to go if you haven’t already checked it out. It really is one of the most beautiful places I’ve photographed thus far. See for yourself! Oh… and can we just address how show stopping the gorgeous Mrs. Ashley is?!!?
Fall photo time again! Sign ups for 2019 fall mini sessions appointments are now live! There are 3 different dates and locations to pick from just like last year! We expect them to go fast! We always end up with a waitlist so please,please, please get your spots quickly! The first location is around the Buford Dam which is simply stunning in the fall! The second location is known for their sunflower field over the summer but we will be shooting at their awesome rustic barn! Barns have been a big request this year lol! Last but not least is the Christmas Tree Farm! This was a huge hit so if you couldn’t get in for 2018 be sure to grab an appointment asap because we know many planned to make it an annual tradition! If you did get in, feel free to mix it up and snag a time slot at one of the other 2 incredible locations. All sign ups are first come, first serve. As I sit here and soak in all the feels of my littles starting school this week, it’s a brutal reminder of how fast the years go by. I tell people time seems to go by a lot faster ever since I became a parent. It made me want to share one of my favorite sessions from this summer. Callie and Jake were celebrating this beautiful girl turning ONE! I met them shortly after Emery was born (check out their newborn session here) and am thankful they have allowed me to capture those precious moments because as they too have realized this past year, time doesn’t stand still. It just doesn’t care how badly we want our babies to stay babies forever. As my son says, “mommy, I can’t stay little. I have to grow up.” Very true my sweet boy, very true! So…it’s the least I can do to help people like Callie and Jake capture their sweet girl and her adorable personality along the way. Happy Birthday Emery James!
Happy Summer!!!! Not sure about you guys but these two Coco Alley mommas are running around a bit crazy right now!! Between spending time with you guys and having our littles littles home for the summer, well…forgive us! We know we have been a bit MIA from sharing with you guys!! We just had to stop for a second and share this one!
This girl right here you guys…I can’t even begin to describe my excitement and joy for her. I met Hannah when she was maybe 13 years old on the softball fields of Alpharetta. My hubby and her dad played together on the Police Department’s team. Flash forward a few years when Hannah started babysitting for us when our daughter was about 1 year old. Lyla is now just shy of 7 and she’s still watching our kids weekly! Like many of you mamas and daddies out there, you know when you trust someone so much to care for your kids and know how good it feels to realize how much they genuinely loves them. It’s a pretty big deal! So when she first told me that she knew she wanted to marry this guy (whom now I know is the awesome Corwin) I selfishly yelled inside. Our girl will be his girl…she won’t want to babysit anymore! The kids can’t wait to see Hannah get married and are very much looking forward to dancing at her wedding. She is part of our family. I’m ecstatic for her and so thankful she allowed me to capture a few moments of their engagement. Funny side note….They thought they were going to be “awkward” at their session but holy smokes you guys….they were anything but! Look at the sweetness!!!
