Mila’s story….it’s a true example of things don’t always go as planned in life and especially as parents! Below you will see my adventure with the Ochoas’ unfold from before Mila, waiting the painful, several hours to meet her and finally in her amazingly beautiful nursery. My journey with this sweet girl’s parents started at Piedmont Park for a maternity session. This was after not one cancellation, not after two… but we had to reschedule FOUR times due to this wonderful rainy Georgia weather! This wasn’t the first nor last change of plans with my new friends, Kim and Manny. In the early morning of March 29 I got a text from Kim saying her water broke and she was heading to the hospital. I literally froze. Two reasons- I was crazy excited to document their baby girl’s birth but Kim’s due date wasn’t until April 14, I was not expecting this! We kept in touch throughout the day and I kept an eye on the handiest little app, Waze, and decided to head down at 2:30 as traffic was building up and the hospital was downtown (good ole ATL traffic). Kim was hanging in there but her labor was slowing down. I hung out with them until about 7:00 and headed home fully expecting to get the call in the middle of the night. Â At 2:00 AM Manny texted me and gave me the news that Kim was heading in for a c-section. Selfishly, I was super bummed! But the back up plan was now a Fresh 48, so a couple days later I headed back down to finally meet this sweet girl! At the end of the day, everything worked out wonderfully and we have one beautiful baby girl and a happy Mommy & Daddy. The pictures share just that! I love I was able to document this journey for the Ochoa family!
