On October 18th we’re returning to the fabulous Cauley Creek Preserve in Alpharetta/ Cumming! This was a no brainer for us! We love its natural setting, fall colors and the open field! Combined with the wooded treelined trail and open green spaces, it gives us a variety of beautiful backdrops all within one location to create playfully magical family portraits. It’s been so good to us in the past, you can’t go wrong : )

We are SO excited to introduce you to  Cox Arboretum & Gardens in Canton, Georgia, (not far from the Milton area). Every year we strive to find new venues to sprinkle in with our tried and true trusty spots that we love and let us tell you, the struggle is REAL lol! But we did it again! Finding this amazingly special hidden gem felt like a darn Christmas miracle! It’s tucked away on 13 acres of what can only be described as gloriously serene! The property feels like a little world of its own and you can just feel the history of love that went into its creation. Winding little paths with mature trees, beautiful gardens, open spaces, water features and an incredible collection of plants and trees from around the world. Every turn seems to reveal another beautiful backdrop, making it absolute magic! MAGIC!

Honestly there is so much we could go on and on about regarding their mission, the lovely family that founded and operates this one of a kind arboretum (did we mention it’s internationally acclaimed), but we could never do it justice. If you have a moment, check out their website and follow their socials to learn about its history and the generational love poured into its maintenance and the many ways they share it with the community. We are thrilled they’ve agreed to let us host not one, but two mini sessions dates this fall!

Our mini sessions are perfect for families, children, siblings, couples, maternity portraits,  and all the little milestones in between. Each session is designed to be quick and relaxed while giving us plenty of time to capture both beautiful portraits and the genuine moments that make your family yours!  Whether you’re joining us for fall family photos, Christmas and holiday portraits, updated photographs of the kids, or simply because it’s time for a new family picture, our mini sessions are designed to give you beautiful photographs without the time commitment of a full portrait session. With a set location and the abbreviated 30 min session, we are able to discount our regular session cost.

*** There is a non refundable deposit of $50 to reserve your session. You can find more details regarding the deposit and rescheduling options on the sign up sheet! All reservations are still first come first serve.

***Mini sessions cover up to 6 people total so we do ask that if you plan to do a multi-generational session, multi-family session or have more than 6 people that plan on attending your shoot, to please contact us prior to reserving your spot and paying the deposit as they carry an additional fee that must be paid prior to receiving your image gallery.

What to Expect

Mini sessions are intentionally short and relaxed. We’ll guide you through the session. You will never have to wonder what to do or where to stand. We’ll capture a combination of traditional family portraits, individual photographs of the children and natural interactions along the way.

Because every family is different, we keep things flexible and allow your children to be themselves. Some of the best photographs happen in the moments between poses—and those are often the images you’ll treasure most.

What should we wear for our mini session?

We recommend coordinating rather than matching. Choose colors and textures that work well together while still allowing everyone’s personality to show. Pinterest is a great place to find outfit inspo 🙂

Are mini sessions good for young children?

Absolutely! Mini sessions are a great option for families with young children. The shorter session length helps keep things moving, and we always leave room for the natural interactions and little moments that make children’s portraits so special. So no stress about wondering if your child will smile or how they will behave. As mommies ourselves we get it, but as photographers, we got you! We will get what we need by any means necessary: ) j/k!

Can we bring grandparents or extended family?

Sure thing! Just let us know if your group will be larger that 6 subjects total so we can determine if a full regular session would be more appropriate for your crew!

What happens if I need to cancel or if it rains?

Outdoor sessions are weather dependent. If weather conditions make your scheduled session unsafe or unsuitable for photography, we’ll communicate the rescheduling plan for that particular event.

Should you need to cancel or reschedule your session, you can use your appointment confirmation link to move to another available time slot without triggering the need for another non refundable deposit, or you can cancel all together if need be.  We do our best to carry the deposits over for you, but please reach out to discuss that further if a mini session no longer works for you and your family .

How far in advance should we book?

Our seasonal mini sessions can and will fill quickly! We recommend booking as soon as the sign ups are available . If you don’t find a time or date that works with your schedule please reach out to us so we can figure out a time that might.

What happens if there are no longer spots available?

If you don’t find a time or date that works with your schedule or the date you wanted is completely sold out, please reach out to us so we can get you on our waitlist. Schedules change, teams go to the championships, kids get sick… There are many reasons spots can open back up so please continue to check the availability online. Behind the scenes we will also work through the waitlist, or we can help schedule a regular session for you.

Do you offer full portrait sessions too?

Yes! If you’d like more time, have a large group, or want a more customized experience & location, then our full portrait sessions may be a better fit. We’re always happy to help you choose the session that’s right for your family.
